Vinay Prasad MD MPH is a practicing hematologist-oncologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of California San Francisco. He studies cancer drugs, health policy, clinical trials and better decision making. Clinically, Dr. Prasad cares for patients with a wide range of benign hematologic and malignant conditions. He hosts the podcast Plenary Session, and runs a YouTube Channel: VinayPrasadMDMPH

Dr. Prasad studies the quality of medical evidence, cancer drug development, clinical trial design, and health care policy. His work utilizes a wide range of epidemiological methods, and falls into the category of meta-research.

Kerrington L. Powell is the creator of the Plenary Session show notes and website. Kerrington attended Lamar University, where he studied Psychology/Sociology and was a Division 1 Athlete. He is now enrolled as a medical student at the Texas A&M College of Medicine.


Kerrington is as passionate about education as he is about health care and hopes to combine his interests in the two fields as he begins his journey in medicine.
